Overview
Cookie Monster is a Chrome browser extension that automatically scans and removes third-party tracking cookies to protect your privacy while browsing.
What we access
Cookie Monster requests the following browser permissions:
cookies — to read, classify, and delete tracking cookies in your browser
webRequest — to track which domains a webpage contacts so we can identify associated cookies
notifications — to notify you when trackers are automatically deleted
tabs — to detect when you navigate to a new page so cookies can be scanned
storage — to save your privacy settings and deletion history locally on your device
host_permissions (all URLs) — to monitor cookies across all websites you visit
What stays on your device
Everything. All scanning, classification, and deletion happens entirely within your browser. No cookie data, no browsing history, no personal information, and no usage data is ever transmitted to any external server or third party. Cookie Monster makes no outbound network requests except to load fonts from Google Fonts for the user interface.
